This two-week course focuses on building foundational office automation skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Designed for teens, it emphasizes real-world applications such as resume writing, budgeting, and presentations.

 This tutorial will help you master full-stack web development using Java for the back-end and React for the front-end, alongside essential technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and Express. You will learn how to create dynamic, interactive web applications by connecting the front-end with React and the back-end using Java.

What Will You Learn?

Students will gain hands-on experience in document formatting, spreadsheet formulas, data visualization, and presentation creation. By the end, they’ll complete a project that demonstrates mastery across all three tools.

Requirements

This course is designed for beginners with no prior jewelry-making experience required.

  • Ideal for ages 12 to 17+ (course can be adjusted for varied skill levels)
  • Basic familiarity with using a computer is helpful
  • All software (Microsoft Office) will be provided
  • Students should bring a notebook for notes and project ideas

Day 1: Introduction to Office Suite

Intro to Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Learn basic navigation, saving, printing, and perform a simple task like creating a document and spreadsheet.

Day 3: Microsoft Word – Tables & Images

Insert tables, pictures, and page borders. Explore page layout and design. Task: Create a report with text and visuals.

Day 4: Microsoft Excel – Basics

Understand the core concepts of classes and functions in Java. Learn how to create a main method, the entry point for Java programs, and use access specifiers and keywords like public, static, and void.

Day 5: Microsoft Excel – Charts & Functions

Learn to insert bar, line, and pie charts. Use functions like =IF(), =MAX(), and =MIN(). Task: Make a simple budget with chart visualization.

Day 6: Microsoft PowerPoint – Slide Creation

Work with slide layouts, themes, and text formatting. Insert images, icons, and shapes. Task: Create an intro slideshow about yourself.

Day 7: PowerPoint – Animations & Transitions

Add slide transitions and text animations. Use audio and video clips. Task: Create a 5-slide animated story or topic of your choice.

Day 8: Integrated Tools – Word + Excel + PPT

Embed Excel charts into Word or PowerPoint. Learn how to export slides as PDFs. Task: Combine all tools to create a school project kit.

Day 9: Final Project Work

Students choose a final project: create a resume + budget + presentation, or design a travel itinerary with cost analysis + slideshow. Peer reviews and refinement included.

Day 10: Final Presentation + Wrap-up

Students present their final projects. Participate in a quick quiz or fun challenge. Certificates will be awarded and group photos taken.
